Library, playlists, ads, and subscriptions
VideoKe separates catalog browsing (Home and Search curated rows) from your library (Recents and playlists you created). Understanding that split helps you queue faster and know where your data lives.
Library page
Open Library from the main navigation. You need to be signed in or continue as a guest — guest sessions still get a user id so Recents can persist on that device.
The page has two sections:
- Recents — Unique songs you recently used, newest first (up to about 40 playable tracks). We record a recent when you add a song to a room queue or open a video page while signed in. Browsing Home categories alone does not fill Recents.
- My Playlists — Lists you name and manage yourself. Create a playlist, open it to see songs, or build sets over time from the room sidebar and save dialog.
Guest libraries live with that guest session. If you care about the list next month, register or sign in so it is tied to an account you can open on another device.
Playlists in the room
Inside an active room, switch the sidebar to Playlists, pick a list, and queue songs with + or ▶. Play all adds every track that is not already in the queue — useful for “90s night” or “OPM classics” sets you prepared ahead of time. Do not Play all a 40-song melancholy list into a birthday; build lists with energy in mind (playlists for a full night).
To save a song without leaving the room, tap the bookmark icon on a search result or use Save to playlist under Now playing. Pick an existing list or type a new name. If the song is already in that playlist, VideoKe warns you instead of duplicating it. Gold bookmarks mean the track is saved somewhere in your library.
To remove a song from a playlist in the room, open the list and tap × on the row (with confirmation). You can also remove tracks on the playlist detail page from Library.
Curated vs personal playlists
Home and Search show curated category playlists maintained for the whole catalog — think decades, genres, or mood rows. Those are not your personal lists. Personal playlists appear only under Library and in the room Playlists tab for your account.
Curated rows can change as the catalog syncs. Your lists do not silently replace themselves with someone else’s taste.
Ads — where they appear
VideoKe may show advertisements on some browse pages (for example Home and Search) when ads are enabled globally and you are not on an active paid subscription. Ads are intentionally not placed inside party rooms, where chat and video playback need focus.
Ads help cover hosting and API costs during free trials and guest use. If a page looks empty where an ad might be, your browser may have blocked it — the layout collapses so you are not left with a blank box.
See our Privacy Policy for cookies, advertising partners, and consent in regulated regions. The product explanation of trial vs paid is Ads, the free trial, and when a subscription is worth it.
Subscriptions
Visit Pricing to compare plans. Subscribing generally removes ads on browse pages and may raise room participant limits depending on the plan configured by the site operator. Checkout uses PayMongo; after payment you return to VideoKe and your access status updates automatically.
Trials still show ads on browse pages until you subscribe or the trial ends — check the banner at the top of the site for your current status. Rooms stay without ads either way.
